According to the news on social media and some media on 10 August 2022, it is observed that a memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between the Chiang Mai University of Thailand and the so-called Spring University Myanmar (SUM). In this regard, Myanmar Consul-General in Chiang Mai has met with the authorities concerned of the Chiang Mai University to verify the news. It is learned that there has been no discussion or signing of an agreement between them. Hence, it is found out that the facts described in the said news were incorrect and based on unreliable information and false facts.
