Minister Johnson Smith Pays Tribute in Senate to Countries that Established Diplomatic relations with Jamaica in 1962

Caption: “It was a significant development that throughout 1962, the following countries founded Diplomatic Relations with Jamaica: the Kingdom of Belgium, the Federative Republic associated with Brazil, Canada, the French Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of India, the State of Israel, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain plus Northern Ireland, and the United states. We pay homage to these countries, which have been with us from the   very beginning. “- The Hon. Kamina Manley Smith, leader of Federal government Business in the Senate upon Friday, December 2   as she paid tribute to the countries with who Jamaica is observing 60years of Diplomatic Relations- Minister of Foreign Affairs plus Foreign Trade, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Cruz
Of these twelve countries, nine have diplomatic missions within Kingston – Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Indian, South Korea, the UK as well as the USA.
