Johnson Smith describes the UWI and Consular Corps collaboration on human trafficking as significant – MFAFT – Jamaica

While speaking at the signing ceremony, she said this partnership augurs well for promoting the prevention of human trafficking and increasing vigilance at all levels. She added that, it will further assist in raising awareness through the various outreach programmes that will be conducted.
Caption:  Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade has described the signing of the MOU between the University of the West Indies and the Consular Corps on Thursday (Dec 14) as significant, noting that it addresses youth development and human trafficking- two critical issues for Jamaica.
She commends UWI and the Consular Corps for efforts to combat trafficking in persons.
Minister Johnson Smith also cited the work of the Foreign Ministry in playing its part through annual sensitization and training sessions on trafficking in persons for staff at HQ and missions overseas.
