His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali attended the opening ceremony of the World Leaders Summit of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP) 26 in Glasgow, Scotland where he interacted with several world leaders.
The President met with Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau; Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi; President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in; Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah; President of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez; President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada; Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Shtayyeh and China’s chief climate negotiator, Xie Zhenhua.
The Head of State also met numerous other leaders including the UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Joseph Biden.
