Minister Todd meets with Irish Ambassador




The two sides discussed the upcoming Ministerial visit to Guyana in June 2022, and several areas of mutual interest between Guyana and Ireland, among which included, climate change, agriculture, and diaspora engagement.
Minister Todd and Ambassador Hoy both shared mutual optimism toward the enhancement of diplomatic relations and cooperation between Guyana and Ireland.
Guyana and Ireland established diplomatic relations on February 2, 2000.
The Foreign Minister also alluded to the upcoming Agri-Investment Forum and Expo, that Guyana is expected to host from May 19-21, 2022. The forum will bring together representative from across the region and afar to address agriculture related matters, with the main aim of reducing the regional food imports bill 25% by the year 2025.
The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Seán Hoy, Non-Resident Ambassador of Ireland to Guyana.
