INFORMATION NOTE || His Excellency Doctor Rajendra Singh, High Commissioner of Guyana to the Uk, on November 27-29, 2022, led the Guyana delegation at the 115th Session of the Organisation of African, Carribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Council of Ministers plus 45th Session of the OACPS-EU Joint Council of Ministers held in Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Jiří KOZÁK, Very first Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Co-chaired the meeting for the EU side, while His Excellency Dr . Amery Browne, Minister for Foreign plus CARICOM Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago and the current Chair of the OACPS Co-Chaired the meeting on the OACPS side. The sessions, prominently attended by European Commissioners, European Ministers, and their counterparts from the 79-member OACPS, focused on a plethora of topical issues of both global significance as well as specific to the OACPS-EU Partnership. During the three times of meetings, the Ministers talked about current geopolitical issues such as the Food and Energy crises plus their impact on vulnerable countries including those in the OACPS; preparations for the signing of the new OACPS-EU Partnership Agreement; Climate Change and climate finance challenges; the execution of the EU’s new funding instrument- NDICI-Global Europe, along with its global infrastructure growth programme- the Global Gateway Strategy.
