Discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between the two countries. President Ali noted that the countries have a special bond that extends beyond the politics sphere. He recalled plus expressed appreciation for Cuba’s support of Guyana’s advancement, particularly in building out the human resource capability. He said, too, that Guyana and Cuba can incorporate their efforts in the parts of food security and manufacturing. In his remarks, Ambassador Luis extended his gratitude to Guyana for its continued solid support while he acknowledged the many areas in which the 2 countries can further collaborate. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honourable Hugh Todd and the Ministry’s Permanent Admin, Mrs Elisabeth Harper were also at the simple wedding ceremony. Guyana and Cuba established diplomatic relations 50 years back.
