Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honourable Hugh Todd, today traveled to Essequibo to meet with family members of the fishermen who were recently detained by Venezuelan authorities.
During the engagement in Charity on the Essequibo Coast, Minister Todd distributed food hampers to the families and assured them that the Government and the country stand with them.
The 12 fishermen and their vessels, the Lady Nayera and Sea Wolf, are expected in Guyana on Saturday, February 6.
