CARICOM Foreign Ministers meet US Security Advisor

Foreign Ministers within CARICOM today engaged in a teleconference with Mr. Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor of the United States during which they discussed areas of mutual interest.

The Chair of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations, Minister Eamon Courtney of Belize in his remarks alluded to areas of Regional Security, COVID-19 and enhanced relations between the Caribbean and the United States.

Mr. Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor of the United States stated that US Foreign Policy is rooted in mutual respect and further emphasised that multilateralism and diplomacy are at the centre of the Biden’s Administration. Among those present during the discussion were Foreign Ministers of Suriname, Belize, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago.
