The Greek Embassy in Ankara as well as the Consulate General in Izmir have taken appropriate steps from the very first moment, making relevant representations to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We unequivocally condemn the unacceptable and totally unjustified detention and entry ban imposed on the Governor of Central Macedonia Region by the Turkish authorities in Izmir earlier today.
We expect the competent Turkish authorities to provide immediate explanations and we call on them to take the necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
