Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement to journalists during his visit to Türkiye (Antakya, 12. 02. 2023)

In summary, I would like to express my affection for my compatriots, the particular rescuers who have helped European society and the Turkish individuals in this difficult time.   I warmly thank Mevlüt as well as the Turkish government as well for his or her warm welcome at this very difficult time for them. Aside from that, I would like to completely endorse Mevlüt’s earlier statement that there is no need to wait for organic disasters to occur to improve our own relations. We have been particularly happy for the individual lives saved by the Ancient greek rescuers who have been operating within Turkey, as well as for the very a lot of lives saved by the Euro rescuers, as we had the opportunity, to visit the Austrian, Dutch and Icelandic rescuers together with Mr Çavuşoğlu.   According to what we were told, 205 lives were saved simply by European rescue teams, such as the Greek one. Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement to journalists during his visit to Türkiye (Antakya, 12.02.2023) First and of all, I would really like to convey to Turkey’s Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Foreign Affairs, my good friend Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to the Turkish Government, and the Turkish people, the Mitsotakis Government as well as the entire Greek people’s many heartfelt condolences for the thousands of deaths of our fellow humans following the two devastating earthquakes. But I would like to emphasize that Greece’s efforts to assist the Turkish people and culture in overcoming this great strike do not end here. I have been instructed by my Prime Minister, Mr Mitsotakis, to make sure Turkey that Greece is going to do everything possible to support this at this difficult time, either bilaterally or in the context from the membership in the European Union. I would also like to thank Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu for his very warm words regarding the Greek rescuers’ efforts and our existence here.
