But aside from that, being a pilgrim myself, I had a chance to stand in front of Orthodoxy’s ancient monuments, to get in touch with the monks who serve this over a thousand-year-old tradition, and to feel a small part of this lengthy chain.
It is a great pleasure and honour for me to be in Mount Athos today, in my capacity since the responsible Minister. First and foremost, I had fashioned the opportunity to express to the Ay Community the Mitsotakis Government’s belief that this ark associated with Orthodoxy is worthy of every support and assistance.
