Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to visit Niger (Niamey, 02.11.2022)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs’ visit to Niger, his fifth trip to Sub-Saharan Africa within 12 months, reflects Greece’s strong diplomatic engagement and the upgrading of our country’s presence in the region.
The Minister is also scheduled to hold talks with other officials from the Government of Niger.
During his stay in Niger, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have a one-on-one meeting with his counterpart, Hassoumi Massoudou, followed by expanded talks.
During the Minister’s visit, talks are expected to cover bilateral relations, cooperation in the International Organization of La Francophonie, developments in the Sahel region, as well as a series of regional challenges, such as the migration/refugee issue and terrorism.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will travel to Niamey, the capital of Niger, tomorrow, November 2, 2022, marking the first-ever visit by a Greek Foreign Minister to this country.
The two Foreign Ministers are scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations and a Memorandum of Understanding on Diplomatic Training.
