Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to visit London (22.07. 2022)

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate-General for Development and Humanitarian Aid in cooperation with the Fetal Medicine Foundation will jointly implement a Fetal Medicine Program to be offered to selected countries for the period 2022-2025.
During his stay in London, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to meet with the Ambassador of Namibia with concurrent accreditation to Greece.
Kypros Nicolaides is considered the “father” of cervical transparency and is the founder of the non-profit Fetal Medical Foundation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias has sent letters to his counterparts in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa, whose countries have been pre-selected.
The award is in recognition of both Kypros Nicolaides’ scientific achievements and his charitable activities and contribution to those in need.
This program will include, inter alia, the establishment of a Fetal Medicine Unit, which will be located within a public maternity hospital with free access for all women, as well as the development of a postgraduate program in fetal medicine for medical staff from each selected country, which will be accompanied by a two-year internship at the Fetal Medicine Foundation at King’s College London.
Women’s and children’s health is one of Greece’s priorities and is included in the Four-Year National Programme for International Development Co-operation (2022-2025).
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will travel to London tomorrow, Friday, July 22, in order to present an award to Kypros Nicolaides, distinguished Professor of Fetal Medicine at King’s College London and University College London.
