Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Fragogiannis participates in the “Team Europe” Ministerial Visit to Niger (Niamey, 7-8. 02. 2023)

Speaking at a Business Forum, kept on Tuesday, February 7, Mr. Fragogiannis underscored the significance of strengthening Niger’s economic connections with the EU, within the construction of the EU-West Africa Financial Cooperation Agreements, so that the country can better integrate to the international trading system and ensure sustainable economic growth. The Deputy Minister referred, especially, to the prospects of zwei staaten betreffend economic cooperation between Greece and Niger, emphasizing that the large number of Greek products, such as building materials and innovative medical products, could address important needs of the nearby market.
Subsequently, the particular “Team Europe” team visited a school in Niamey, as well as water treatment plus power generation facilities, all of which were co-financed by Euro funds. The aim of these appointments was to assess the condition and functionality of the facilities and infrastructure as well as to determine additional needs and long term steps.
