Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andreas Katsaniotis meets with the Ambassador of Israel, Noam Katz (Athens, 24.11.2022)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, received at his office today the Ambassador of Israel, Noam Katz. During the meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, the two sides confirmed the excellent bilateral relations and their commitment to further deepen and expand their cooperation.
Reference was made to the active role of the Diaspora and the successful partnerships between active Diaspora communities of Greece and Israel in third countries, for example in the US. The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the importance that the Greek side attaches to the protection of its historical rights and property, were also discussed during the meeting.
After congratulating the Israeli Ambassador on his accreditation to Athens, the Deputy Minister referred to the two countries’ multi-level cooperation in a number of fields, both at bilateral and trilateral levels. The discussion focused on public diplomacy, as Israel has built up significant experience in this field and Mr. Katz served as a senior official in various public diplomacy positions prior to his appointment in Greece. The two sides reaffirmed their will to expand cooperation and exchange best practices.
