Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis to visit Paris (16-17 March 2021)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will carry out a two-day visit to Paris on 16 and 17 March. He will have talks with the French Secretary of State for European Affairs, Clement Beaune, and meet with members of the French National Assembly and the French Senate.

On Tuesday, 16 May, Mr. Varvitsiotis will have a series of meetings with delegations from the Greek-French Friendship Groups of the National Assembly and the Senate, and at 17:30 (Greek time) he will meet with his French counterpart, Mr. Beaune. The agenda for the talks includes European coordination on the response to COVID-19, the European vaccination certificate, EU-Turkey relations, migration, the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Recovery Fund, the Social Dimension of the EU, EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, EU-Russia relations, Greek-French bilateral political, economic-trade and cultural relations, and the Cyprus issue.

On Wednesday, 17 March, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will visit the French National Assembly to meet with the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs, Sabine Thillaye. In the context of his visit, he will also meet with Tara Varma, head of the Paris office of the European Council on Foreign Relations.
