“We are in favour of a peaceful resolution of differences on the basis of a two-state solution. For the EU, Hamas is a terrorist organization. No one can deprive Israel of its right and obligation to protect its citizens from an attack with 1.500 rockets aimed at civilians”, stressed Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis in an interview with Maria Anastassopoulou and Dimitris Oikonomou on SKAI TV’s show “TODAY”. Regarding the State Department report on religious freedom, published yesterday, Mr. Varvitsiotis commented that the level of Turkey’s approach to European values, meaning a more open and liberal society, has begun to decline, adding that the country is moving rapidly away from the European acquis.
