DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN THE 2ND VOICE OF THE GLOBAL SUMMIT

The summit was hosted by India, under the theme, “Together for Everyone’s Growth, with Everyone’s Trust”. The Summit marked a significant milestone in fostering collaboration, collective growth and sustainable development among countries in the global south.
The Hon. Deputy Minister recommended collaborative research on climate-resilient crops and equitable commerce in food and agriculture in order to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goal of “Zero Hunger” by 2030. In the area of health infrastructure, he highlighted the need for prioritising digital solutions and traditional medicine, showcasing Ghana’s progressive initiatives such as the networking of hospitals through the Light Wave Project, E-pharmacy platforms, among others.
The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong participated in the virtual session of the 2nd Voice of the Global South Summit on Friday,17th November, 2023.
Reflecting on the outcomes of the first Voice of the Global South Summit in January 2023, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong noted the shared priorities and aspirations discussed, including the call for multilateral institutional reform, upholding international law, bridging the digital divide as well as addressing food, fuel and fertilizer crisis.
The Session saw the active participation from a number of countries, including India, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Colombia, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Mexico, and The Bahamas.
Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong reiterated Ghana’s unwavering commitment to enhancing bilateral ties among Global South countries through collaboration in the political, economic and technological landscape.
