Türkiye Protocol Training for Government Officials

The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in partnership with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated the Online Protocol Training for #FijianGovernment officials. The 3 days training recently held at Fiji MFA for 20 Fijian Government officials was facilitated by Turkish Diplomacy Academy. Türkiye’s engagement in Fiji has deepened over the years and it has contributed in our nation’s socio-economic development through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). In 2014, (TIKA) provided medical equipment for emergency services which has boosted Fiji’s health sector with life-saving devices.The Turkish Mission and Fiji Mission based in Wellington, New Zealand work closely in advancing the relations of the two nations, which was established in 1975. Non-Resident Ambassador of Türkiye to Fiji, Her Excellency Ms. Fatma Omur Unsay said she was happy to see that the online training program, which was discussed during her visit to Fiji to present her Credentials this year in May, created a momentum. She congratulated the participants who have successfully completed the training. Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye is pleased to conduct the first-ever training programme for Fijian diplomats pursuant to our ongoing cooperation with Fiji. “We look forward to contributing to deepen relations between our respective countries by building capacity among diplomats of Fiji and wish to inform that we stand ready for further training programmes for Fijian diplomats,” Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.It provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge and understanding on the following topics: Türkiye’s Relations with Fiji and the Pacific Region, General Framework of Turkish Foreign Policy, Environment and Climate Change, International Relations, General Protocol Rules and Etiquette, Diplomatic Correspondence. Fiji MFA expresses sincere appreciation to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this timely support and cooperation in capacity building. Fiji MFA looks forward for similar training opportunities in the future. The first of such training between Fiji and Türkiye adds great value to information sharing and expertise in deepening the collaboration between the two nations. It also signifies the commitment of the two nations to strengthen engagements in mutual priorities.
