We’ll have tonight an important informal dinner. It will be the occasion to address the role of the EU on the international stage. Especially after the latest geopolitical developments in Afghanistan, in the Indo-Pacific, and our relations with China.
We are totally committed to the multilateral approach. We are convinced that we need strong partners, strong allies. And that’s why we consider NATO, for example, as the cornerstone for our security.
At the same time, we understand that it’s also important to see with colleagues how we can act in a more autonomous way in line with our partnerships and in line with our alliances.
Another important point is the declaration between the EU and NATO. We will work on that. And tonight this informal dinner, this exchange of views with the leaders is the occasion to clarify how we want to cooperate at the EU level, how we want to coordinate with our partners and our allies.
