Opening of the Council Press Centre in Brussels: modalities as from 14 March 2022

In light of the transition to CODE yellow of the “COVID barometer” adopted by Belgian authorities, the following modalities will apply starting from Monday 14 March 2022:

Council press centre in Brussels will be open every day, with the usual opening hours before COVID restrictions, i.e. from 7:30 to 19:00. In occasion of Council or other events in late hours, opening times will be extended accordingly.

There will be no restrictions concerning the capacity of the press rooms in Justus Lipsius and Europa building and the working spaces allocated to journalists.

Until further notice, it will be still possible to participate remotely to press conferences and briefings.

Press bar will be open in days of Council meetings and some pre-Council briefings with large attendance.

Sanitary Measures

Belgian rules do not oblige mask use except in medical facilities and public transport. They remain recommended in other situations where the distance of 1.5 meters cannot be kept. Masks will continue to be distributed at the entrances.

Social distancing is no longer a requirement, though the distance of 1.5m should be maintained where possible and where not, as indicated above, the recommendation is to wear masks.
