The Interim Chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, Anneli Tuominen, participated today in the annual hearing of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, together with the Chairmen of the European Banking (EBA) and European Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA).
Ms. Tuominen’s is the Vice Chair of ESMA and has been acting as its Interim Chair since 1 April 2021. This is a first hearing with the Interim Chair. The new Chair of ESMA is expected to be appointed shortly.
