Vice Mayor of Odense, in Denmark, receives Ambassador of Cuba

The Deputy-Mayor of the city of Odense, on the Island of Fyn, Tim Vermund, received at the headquarters of the local Government, the Ambassador of Cuba, in the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García.

The meeting permit to ratified the positive state of bilateral relations and the interest in promoting exchange, political and diplomatic dialogue, and the identification of topics of common interest in sectors such as education, youth, and culture.

In a relaxed atmosphere, the representative of the Antillean Island, transmitted various topics of interest about the situation in Cuba, in particular about how Cuba has faced COVID, and the development of its vaccine candidates. He also conveyed the impact caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, whose genocidal policy causes serious consequences for the economic development of the country.

The Cuban diplomat invited the Danish politician for a local delegation to make an official visit to Cuba when conditions permit.

Vermund is a representative of the Social Democratic Party, which has governed the city for several years.

The program of the visit to the city, included contacts with the unions, the Construction sector (3F), and Public Employers (FOA), and concluded with a meeting with the members of the Cuban Dano Friendship Association.

The visit is part of the day of celebrations organized by the Cuban Embassy in the context of the 110th Anniversary of bilateral relations between Denmark and Cuba.
