Tribute to Fidel in Belize.

Belize, November 28, 2021.- Organized by the Cuban Embassy in Belize and the Belize-Cuba Solidarity Group, a virtual solidarity meeting was held to honor Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the fifth anniversary of his physical disappearance.

The welcome remarks were given by Ambassador Said Guerra, who highlighted moments in the life of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution and then the song “Cabalgando con Fidel”, by Raúl Torres, was presented.

The Ambassador of Belize in Cuba, Annie Lou Burns, made an intervention where she highlighted Fidel’s humanism, his principles of internationalism and solidarity aid to the peoples of the world and recounted passages from his life.

Dr. Karishma Madhavi, graduated in Cuba, read the poem dedicated to the Commander in Chief “Gracias Fidel” by the poet Francisco Riverón and the students Clemet Chun and Patrick Pinkard, who are currently studying at ELAM, spoke about their experiences in our country and Fidel’s vision when this institution was created in 1999, which has trained more than 30,000 doctors from 118 countries.

The keynote of the event “How does the legacy of Fidel live on in the region and Belize” was presented by the Cuban Ambassador Maria Caridad Balaguer Labrada.

Messages of solidarity were expressed from the Venezuelan Ambassador in Belize, Gerardo Argote, friends of the solidarity groups, Cuban collaborators in Belize, graduates of Cuban educational institutionsandCuban residents.

Delmer Tzib, member of the Belize-Cuba Solidarity Group, was the moderator of the meeting, characterized by a deep love for Cuba and eternal recognition of the legacy of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, for his profound presence in solidarity and cooperation with the Caribbean countries and especially with Belize (EmbaCuba Belice).
