For his part, the Cuban President referred to the intimate historical ties and friendship between the two nations, while thanking the solidarity and support received in the context of confronting the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensification of the blockade. economic, commercial and financial imposed by the United States against Cuba.
Likewise, the leaders reiterated their commitment to work for the unity and integration of Latin America and the Caribbean under the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) of Mexico and for the defense of Our America as a Zone of Peace.
