The ICAP 60th Anniversary seal is awarded to the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, October 23, 2021. In the afternoon of this Saturday, the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Ethiopia was awarded the ICAP 60th Anniversary seal, during an activity that took place at the Cuban embassy in this capital.

At the handover ceremony, Ambassador Vilma Thomas Ramírez highlighted the work carried out by the Movement, under the guidance of the Friendship Association, in a clear evidence of support and unconditional love for the country who saw them grow and train as professionals. She also stressed that in recent years, the movement has carried out various actions of media and social impact such as activities for the 40th anniversary of the victory in the Ogaden war and the organization of a donation of medical supplies, to support the struggle of Cuba against COVID-19 and the tightening of the US blockade.

For his part, Abebe Ayalew, President of the Friendship Association between the peoples of Ethiopia and Cuba, and who received the distinction on behalf of the Solidarity Movement, thanked the ICAP for the Award and expressed that Cuba can always count on the support and the brotherhood of Ethio-Cubans, as Ethiopian graduates in our country are known.

Representatives of various solidarity organizations, the ambassadors of Venezuela in this nation and of Ethiopia to Cuba, the members of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Cuban residents and other members of the Cuban State Mission attended the activity.
