STATEMENT
The Helleno-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity denounces and condemns in the most explicit way the Resolution and the debate in the European Parliament against Cuba that arose by a known group of reactionary MEPs, under the pretext once again of the alleged violation of the “human rights”
The debate and the Resolution constitute one more incident of the imperialist aggression of the European Union against Cuba that is constantly manifested and in various ways, such as the previous “Common Position”, the sanctions against Cuba, etc. At the same time, they constitute another example of the hypocrisy and deception about the so-called progressive European Union, which not only supports, but actually supports the inhuman and cruel blockade of the United States against Cuba for more than 60 years, while, At the same time, it traces its own autonomous policy to intervene in the internal affairs of Cuba through pressure for suffocating cooperation agreements and others.
His perpetual aspiration is to slander the conquests of the Cuban Revolution and the cruel intervention in its internal affairs, to show its strength and terrorize the Cuban people and all the peoples of the world to impose its submission without protests in capitalist barbarism.
The coincidence of the debate is not by chance. The imperialists try in vain to take “revenge”. The example of socialist Cuba with its public health system and for all, the comprehensive prevention system, the promptness of research and creation of vaccines, the minimum percentage of deaths from the coronavirus worldwide and the expression with facts of true solidarity through medical missions in many countries – even under lockdown conditions! – demonstrated the destitution of the commercialized and bankrupt healthcare system throughout the capitalist world, resulting in millions affected and the dead, graves common.
In addition, on June 23, the United Nations General Assembly debated the issue of Cuba and the United States’ blockade against it.
All these years all the Greek governments that participate in the imperialist organizations and support the aggressive policy of their strategic allies, the United States and the EU, against Cuba, the sanctions and the interventions in their internal affairs have a great fault.
However, his endeavor is going to fail once again. Workers and peoples already have valuable experience. They have no confidence in those who are supposedly interested in human rights, while at the same time organizing military interventions around the world, sowing refugees and immigrants, sowing poverty and misery, launching a strong attack on labor and popular rights in their own countries, they intensify repression and authoritarianism.
The Greek people have unbreakable ties of friendship with the Cuban people. It will continue to express its solidarity with their fight, especially for the lifting of the cruel blockade of the United States and the closure of its illegal military base in Guantánamo, against all kinds of intervention in the internal affairs of Cuba by the United States, the EU and by all imperialist organizations.
