Namibia, January 28th, 2022- During the act of homage for the 169th Anniversary of the birth of José MartÃ, organized by the Cuban State Mission in Namibia, the Electoral Commission of District 113 took office, which will lead the debate and vote of the new Family Code.
The event was chaired by Ambassador Sidenio Acosta. Other officials from the diplomatic headquarters of the Island and a representation of the Cuban experts in Namibia also participated.
The Electoral Commission of District 113 was constituted by the second secretary Aldo Luis Fuentes Acosta, as President, Dr. Arnaldo Meneses Oramas, as Secretary, and the first secretary Liset EchevarrÃa Santos, as Member.
In the oath, read by the newly appointed President of the Commission, its members undertook to respect Cuban laws and conduct the process with integrity, responsibility, and patriotism.
At another point in the ceremony, a wreath was placed on the bust of the National Hero of Cuba, located in the Embassy of the Caribbean country.
Likewise, the first secretary Liset EchevarrÃa Santos highlighted the historical figure of José Martà and his dimension for the Cuban nation.
On his part, Ambassador Acosta underlined the importance of the new Family Code for Cuban society and its humanistic and revolutionary meaning.
