Oslo, February 22, 2022. The Association of Friendship with Cuba in Norway held its Annual Meeting, which was an opportunity to review the work carried out in the last year and propose and approve the objectives and guidelines for the next period, in order to improve the Organization´s internal functioning and performance.
The meeting’s agenda also included the renewal and/or ratification of the Association’s directorate and the analysis of various topics of interest, such as the XIX European Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, which will take place in Moscow, from 24 to 26 next June.
In her address, the Cuban Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, pointed out that in a difficult context marked by the tightening of the blockade and the persistence of a strong subversive and destabilizing campaign against it promoted by the United States, Cuba needs and counts with the support of the solidarity movement that it has generated all over the world, of which the Friendship Association in Norway is an active and prominent member.
“Cuba appreciates everything you do in its favor and will not disappoint you. Cuba will remain firm in its principles and will continue to resist and guarantee the irreversibility and continuity of socialism. Nor will it give in to imperialism and its lackeys, and will not take a single step back from the achievements of these 63 years of Revolution, the Cuban diplomat assured. (Embacuba Noruega)
