Athens, November 5. The José Martí Cultural Association of Solidarity with Cuba (ACJM) organized an important event of solidarity and against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba called “Cuba is not alone and never will be.” The event combined face-to-face and virtual mode as it was broadcast live over the internet (live stream), which allowed compliance with health measures and guarantees a wide audience from all sectors of society, various political forces, Cuban residents, etc.
It began with a video explaining the history of the Cuban revolution, the aggressions, the effects of the blockade, the campaigns against Cuba and emphasizing that Cuba is not alone, nor will it ever be. Then a video message from Noemi Rabaza, vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP). This is followed by the words of the Cuban Ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, the Panteio University professor Dimitris Kaltsonis, the journalist Christina Mavropoulou and Alekos Chalvatsis on behalf of the ACJM. This was followed by a debate where the Ambassador answered questions from the attendees.
In general, the situation in Cuba was explained, the tightening of the blockade, measures taken by Trump and Biden, the campaigns against the revolution, the reality of the events of July 11, the reality behind the alleged march of November 15, the fight against the pandemic, Cuban vaccines and medicines, internationalist aid from Cuba to other countries, etc.
Friends of Cuba reaffirmed once again their support for the revolution and their condemnation of the blockade. They expressed that they will carry out actions in support of Cuba and counteract the imperialist propaganda and the negative actions that are being prepared against the Island of Liberty. Once again the friendship and ties between the Greek and Cuban peoples were shown.
