Sri Lanka, February 23, 2021. – His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, received the Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Presidential Secretariat.
Both parties highlighted the historical relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as expressed their interest in continuing to strengthen them.
The Ambassador reiterated our gratitude for the permanent support given by Sri Lanka to Cuba in its fight against the blockade imposed on our country for more than six decades by the US government.
