Palestinians and Lebanese raise their voices in support of Cuba

Beirut, November 15, 2021. An act of solidarity with Cuba took place this afternoon in the Palestinian refugee camp of Chatila in Beirut, organized by the Palestine-Cuba Friendship Association and the League of Palestinian Graduates in Cuba, with the participation of graduates in Cuba, friends of solidarity and representatives of Palestinian and Lebanese political forces.

The evening, which is part of a worldwide movement of solidarity with the Greater Antilles, heard voices rejecting the blockade and the U.S. interference policy.

In his speech, the head of the Lebanese Al Wafa (Loyalty) party, Ahmad Alawan, asked Cuba to manufacture vaccines of fraternity, brotherhood and dignity to send to the United States and many other countries of the world. In this way, he alluded to the creation by Cuban science of five vaccine candidates against Covid-19, thanks to which the so-called new normality began today in the Antillean country.

The head of the solidarity association, Salah Salah, and that of the league of graduates, Ali El Khatib, highlighted the contributions of the Caribbean nation to the just causes of the world, among them that of Palestine. Both referred to the hundreds of compatriots who graduated from Cuban universities to establish indestructible links between the two countries.

For his part, the Cuban ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Pellicer, pointed out that today was a day of celebration in Cuba because the children were returning to school and the country was once again opening up to the world with renewed hopes of a gradual recovery of the economy after two years of the tightening of the blockade and the negative effects of the pandemic.

Pellicer Moraga denounced that the United States and the enemies of the Revolution, in an inhuman and opportunistic manner, bet on the pandemic to provoke the end of the Revolution and socialism in Cuba, but their plans failed once again. “I can affirm to you that our country defeated the pandemic and the plans of imperialism to destroy us,” the diplomat concluded.
