Dear comrades The Communist Party of Greece pays tribute to the great communist leader, the Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro Ruz, five years after his death. For decades, Fidel Castro has been a source of inspiration for the struggles of the peoples of the world and the Greek people. Entire generations of militants have been formed with his example, with his leading role in the success of the Cuban revolution, in the construction of socialism, in the confrontation with imperialism and the frustration of hundreds of subversive actions. Especially in the very difficult conditions that arose for the world revolutionary movement after the counterrevolutionary overthrows in the USSR and the other socialist countries of Europe, we were inspired by the resistance of the Cuban people and by Fidel’s firm position against imperialist aggression. Fidel Castro has left a valuable legacy to the international communist movement and particularly to the Cuban people, in the struggle that his people are waging against the US blockade and all attempts to undermine the Cuban revolution led by the US and its allies. On the occasion of this message we would like to express once again the internationalist solidarity of the Communist Party of Greece and the Communist Youth to the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban people. We strongly condemn all the aggressive actions of the imperialists that seek to overthrow the power and the conquests of the Cuban people. Our party, with the means at its disposal, fights for the immediate lifting of the barbarous imperialist blockade of the United States and of all measures against Cuba. We condemn the new statements by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who threatened to intensify the blockade measures, since Cuba resisted the plans for counterrevolutionary and anti-communist marches announced for November 15. Dear comrades Fidel Castro will live forever in the historical memory and in the collective consciousness of the peoples, of the oppressed around the world, in the struggle for the liberation of humanity from the exploitation of man by man, for final victory, for communism socialism.
