Lebanese Women’s Association mourns the passing of Dora Carcaño

Beirut, November 5, 2021.  The Equality Association – Wardah Boutros for Women’s Rights – sent a message of condolences to the Federation of Cuban Women on the passing of the outstanding fighter for women’s rights Dora Carcaño.

“It is with great sadness and regret that we receive the news of the passing of comrade Dora Carcaño, the great fighter we have known for a long time, she and we in the Women’s International Democratic Federation, fight to get rid of imperialist aggression and create a humane and equal Society in which the peoples of the world enjoy their right to live in peace and prosperity.” The letter said.

The letter emphasizes that Dora was always at the forefront of the struggles and movements for women’s rights. It also highlights that throughout her career in the leadership of the Federation, she worked to highlight the situation of Arab women, and Palestinian women in particular, and their struggle against Zionist colonialism supported by the United States.

She also appreciates the solidarity with the resistance of the Lebanese women to get rid of the Zionist occupation, especially at the conference held in Beirut, which Comrade Dora attended together with the beloved Vilma Espín. (Embacuba Líbano)
