The total number of Cubans who have already received at least one dose of our vaccine candidates against COVID-19 is, at the end of June 11, 2021, 1,930,901 people, according to the official MINSAP report.
That means that 17.3% of the 11,181,595 Cubans (taking as a reference the population estimated by the ONEI at the end of 2020), have received at least one anticovid puncture.
The world average with a dose for the same date was 12.5% of the world population. But with rates of only 0.8% of the population in low-income countries with at least one dose, according to data from the renowned Oxford University site Our World in Data.

But, while in Canada 64.1% of the population has received at least one dose, in Benin it is only 0.18%
More than half a million Cubans with a complete vaccination scheme
Cuba already reports more than half a million of its citizens with the complete anti-COVID-19 vaccination scheme. That represents that 4.5% of the total population has already been immunized.
By the same date, 6.36% of the world’s population had been fully immunized.
Furthermore, as can be seen in the graph of Our World in Data, the growth of the percentage of Cuba’s fully vaccinated population is manifesting itself at a faster rate than the world average, although Cuba begins to appear in the registry several months later.
More than 3.4 million doses administered
With the same closing of June 11, Cuba has already administered 3,419,657 doses of its vaccine candidates, without serious adverse reactions in its population.
That means a rate of 28.9 doses per 100 inhabitants, when the world average is slightly higher than 29.5. Here too, the exponential growth of Cuba in recent days is more pronounced than that of the world.

What Havana is showing

• • At the end of June 12, a month after the Sanitary Intervention began, Havana reported 422 cases (362 cases less than on May 14), despite the fact that that day the country, unfortunately, had the record of positives for a day with 1,470 cases
Comparison of the number of positives in the 4 municipalities that began the health intervention on May 12:
• Municipality May 14 June 12
• • Guanabacoa 65 31
• • San Miguel del Padrón 64 29
• • East Havana 52 19
• • Regla 13 10
It is not at all the situation to which we aspire and we need to control the disease. But the data are showing a priori the effectiveness of the vaccination path. Let’s wait for the desired efficacy results of our vaccines, to continue towards the goal of fully immunizing the Cuban population before the end of 2021.
