Event to honor Ché Guevara in Norway

Oslo, Norway.- In an emotional ceremony held in this city, tribute was paid to Ernesto Ché Guevara, on the 54th anniversary of his death.

The event was also dedicated to the Day of Indigenous Resistance.

In his remarks, the Charge d’Affaires a.i. from Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, highlighted the legacy of Ché Guevara, precisely because of his ideas in the fight against oppression and in favor of social justice, key demands in the struggle of indigenous peoples.

The Cuban diplomat also commented on the need to promote solidarity between nations in times of crisis such as the one the world is experiencing today, in which the main imperialist power is determined to punish his country with the continuity of the economic blockade and increasing actions to support internal subversion. In this regard, he stressed that “like any other nation in the world, we will not allow foreign agents to interfere in our internal affairs and against the welfare of our people.”

The president of the Norwegian-Cuba Friendship Association, Cihan Karakoc, highlighted the legacy of Ché in the Cuban Revolution, ratifying the will to continue showing its solidarity towards the Caribbean nation from Norway.

The Venezuelan Chargé d’Affaires, Orlando Ortegano, also took part in the event, illustrating to those present about the emphasis of the Bolivarian Revolution in caring for indigenous peoples, forgotten and marginalized for centuries in our lands of America.

Latin American music and audiovisual associated with the themes of the event, served to cheer up an event marked by solidarity with Cuba and the condemnation of the blockade and the interventionist policy of the United States. (Embacuba Noruega)
