Embassy of Cuba in South Africa celebrates Cuban Culture Day

The Cuban Embassy in South Africa this weekend, brought together Cuban internationalists in this sister country and members of the Embassy to celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture with the realization of a Baseball Game. This traditional game is part of the essence of Cuban culture, recently named Cultural Heritage of the Nation.

In exceptional circumstances, the Cuban nation has also had to defend its culture in these times of pandemic. This is coupled with the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States government, which tries to suffocate the Cuban people through hunger and despair, this time also betting on achieving division among Cubans. But history has taught us that the united people will never be defeated. Dozens have been the initiatives of artists, instructors, teachers, Cubans in general to keep alive the forge and essence of the nation, Cuban culture.

Singing out loud the National Anthem, like the Mambises on October 20, 1868 in the midst of the struggles for the independence of Cuba against Spanish colonialism, the celebrations for the Culture Day of the collective of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa began, and collaborators from the Health, Education, Construction and Hydraulic Resources sectors that are in this sister country.

Several entrances to the baseball game, accompanied by the music of the Van Van, defined the course of this solidarity game, which awakened in walkers who were passing by the curiosity to know what was happening there that morning. And at the end, without winners or losers, once again Cuba won.
