Dublin, a tribute to Che, a demonstration against the blockade vs the Cuban people, an altruistic humanitarian gesture, starring by friends in solidarity.

Dublin, October 9, 2021. Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara is a source of pride for many Irish people who embrace progressive ideas, this is influenced by Che’s Irish origins, but above all that his libertarian ideas and for a more just world have full force.

Our solidarity friends could not choose a better date than the 54th anniversary of Che’s assassination to pay tribute to him, but at the same time to do so by starring in solidarity actions that remind us of Che´s strugle.

The solidarity walk organized today in Dublin started from the official residence of the United States ambassador and stopped in front of the Yankee embassy, where the condemnation of the criminal economic blockade against the Cuban people was ratified and the international demand to put an end to it was reiterated.

In parallel, this was an action also conceived to draw attention to the campaign to collect funds to donate to Cuban health and contribute to the confrontation of Covid-19. From Ireland, several tens of thousands of euros have already been donated, invested in syringes for vaccination and antibiotics, a noble action to cushion the severe effects of the blockade on public health.

This walk, in which together with friends in solidarity, Cuban residents in Ireland participated, was promoted by Cuba Support Group Ireland as a continuation of its campaign #WalkingForCuba against the blockade that has taken place in several Irish cities.

To our Irish friends we express eternal gratitude.
