Diplomat rejects Cuba’s inclusion in US unilateral list of terrorists

Havana, 26 May 2021. The deputy director-general of the United States Department at the Foreign Ministry, Johana Tablada, on Wednesday rejected Cuba’s inclusion in the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

On her Twitter account, the official noted that the decision to keep Cuba in Washington’s unilateral list, as reaffirmed on Tuesday by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, says much more about the government of that power than about the Caribbean island.

She added that the White House knows Cuba’s exemplary performance in the fight and cooperation against that scourge better than anyone.

Tablada pointed out that with yesterday’s decision, the Joe Biden administration assumes one of the biggest and more harmful lies during President Donald Trump’s entire term (2017-2021).
