Havana, May 31, 2021-. The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Mr. Jens Frølich Holte, highlighted this Monday the mutual interest in promoting bilateral relations during the virtual exchange held between the two countries.
At the meeting, both diplomats stressed the importance of continuing to work for the development of ties in the political and economic spheres, recognizing the positive ties established in the cultural sphere and cooperation projects for mutual benefit and that of other states. Likewise, they recognized the fluid and beneficial cooperation in the multilateral sphere, as well as the coincidence in multiple aspects of the international arena.
For her part, the Vice Minister of Foreign Relations of Cuba conveyed her gratitude on behalf of the Cuban people and government for the support of Norway for the Cuban resolution against the blockade imposed by the United States.
The Norwegian delegation was also represented by the Director General of the Department for Regional Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Mr. Vebjørn Dysvik; the Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Haakon Gram-Johannessen; principal adviser of the Section for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Are Nagoda; the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway accredited to Cuba, Ms. Beate Stirø and the counselor at the Norwegian Embassy in Cuba, Mr. Erlend Skutlaberg; among other officials.
Also present on behalf of the Cuban government were the director general for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Emilio Lozada García, the director of Europe and Canada of the Foreign Ministry, Gisela García Rivera, and the Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Cuba in the Kingdom of Norway, Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez, among other officials of the Foreign Ministry.
