Cuba’s progress in Covid-19 vaccination continues

Havana, 4 March 2022. Cuba’s progress in the processes of mass and booster vaccination against Covid-19 continues as the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported anincreases in both rates on Friday.

The Minsap added that 9,884,967 people have received the complete vaccination scheme, accounting for 89.2 percent of the population, and 5,706,407 have been administered the fourth booster dose, according to data released by the Ministry.

It added that 35,031,576 doses of the homegrown Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines had been administered by March 2.

Specialists have administered at least the first injection with a single dose of Soberana Plus to 10,611,211 citizens, including those convalescing from the SARS-CoV- coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.

Of that total, 9,376,605 Cubans have already received a second dose and 9,55,335 have been administered three doses, the Minsap added in its usual daily report.

Figures from the statistics site of the British University of Oxford, Our World in Data, ratify that Cuba is in the first place in average daily doses per 100 inhabitants with some 309.4.

Behind Cuba are Chile (252.74), United Arab Emirates (241.85), China (217.9), Brazil (184.17), United States (166.91), Mexico (140.31), India (127.85), Indonesia (126.52) and Bangladesh (126.24), which complete the top 10.
