Cubans residing in Namibia donate medical supplies.

Namibia, October 18th, 2021- A group of Cuban residents in Namibia made a donation of medical supplies to fight Covid-19 in Cuba. Cecilia Aldana and Mayelin Bueno delivered the aid to the Cuban Embassy, ​​on behalf of all donors.

The important contribution, consisting of gloves, masks, syringes and needles, was received by Sidenio Acosta, Ambassador of Cuba, and Liset Echevarría, First Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs in the Diplomatic Mission.

Cecilia Aldana expressed that, in this way, the Cuban residents who make the contribution wish to “support the vaccination campaigns in our country against the COVID-19 pandemic.” She added that this is how they show their support “for the Cuban people and against the US economic and genocidal blockade against our Homeland.”

Ambassador Acosta deeply appreciated the gesture and position condemning the US blockade by the Cuban residents. He highlighted the importance of these supplies for the vaccination campaign in Cuba, which will allow, finally, “the control of the pandemic in our country.”

The supplies will be sent to the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, which will send them to the places where they are most useful.

Other members of the Board of Directors of the Cuban Embassy were also present at the ceremony.
