Cuban Embassy in Lebanon awards medical scholarships to 12 young Palestinians

Beirut, November 13, 2021. In a simple but moving ceremony, the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon awarded medical scholarships to 12 young Palestinians who will soon leave for Cuba to begin their studies.

The Cuban Ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, congratulated the students and wished them success in their studies, while urging them to take advantage of this opportunity that Cuba offers them and become good men so that in the future they can help their heroic Palestinian people.

Omar Abu Jamus spoke on behalf of the students and thanked Cuba for granting the scholarships and acknowledged the solidarity of the Greater Antilles and its unconditional support to the struggle of the Palestinian people to establish a sovereign and independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In his speech, the young student highlighted the historical figures of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro and the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, as men who fought for the dignity and freedom of their peoples. With the phrases ¡Viva Cuba!, ¡Viva Palestina¡ and ¡Patria o Muerte! concluded the words of Omar Abu Jamus. (Embacuba Líbano)
