Sri Lanka, May 14, 2021. – The Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos RodrÃguez, held a meeting with Professor Tissa Vitarana, Secretary General of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) and other members of the Central Committee of this party.
During the meeting, a broad exchange was held on various topics of interest, including the effects suffered by our country as a result of the blockade imposed by the United States government for more than six decades, the medical collaboration provided by Cuba to other countries in confronting COVID 19 and the development of several vaccine candidates against the pandemic carried out by Cuban scientists. .
The Secretary General of the LSSP presented the Cuban Ambassador with a plaque, recognizing the work carried out by her during her stay in Sri Lanka for the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Professor Tissa Vitarana is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka – Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group.
