Cuba participates in the 4th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance

Cuba participated in the 4th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), with the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Livan Arronte Cruz. The event was conducted in a virtual manner with the participation of more than 260 participants from different countries, including Ministers of the energy sector and representatives of international organizations such as the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Topics such as the Organization’s Strategic Plan for the next 5 years, which aims to promote the development of photovoltaic solar energy at affordable costs, were discussed. The International Solar Alliance has its headquarters in New Delhi and is an Organization created under the initiative of India with the fundamental aim of promoting the efficient exploitation of solar energy and reducing fuel dependence of the fossil fuels. Cuba is a full member of the Organization and Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean. The event was chaired by India’s Minister of Energy, Raj Kumar Singh, and the Alliance’s Director General, Dr. Ajay Mathur.
