Athens, August 12, In greeting to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the friends of the Greek initiative for the Nobel Peace Prize to the brigade Henry Reeve, Velisarios Kossivakis, Coordinator, and Takis Varelas, vice president, had a meeting at the Cuban Embassy with Ambassador Zelmys MarÃa Dominguez Cortina and the counselor / consul Jose Oriol Marrero Martinez.
At the meeting, the Greek friends handed over the collectible album with 12 original paintings by the prestigious painter Takis Varelas, in solidarity with the Cuban people, where it reaffirms in its title: “Cuba is not alone” – It is a solidarity sample whose sale all the money will be donated to the Cuban people through the established channels. In addition to several copies that will be sent to Cuba to relevant personalities of the government, art, academia, the media, sports, etc.
The members of the Greek initiative expressed their deep solidarity with the Cuban people, as well as the actions that they intend to take to reinforce the existing solidarity with Cuba in Greece and promote cultural ties and cooperation between the two peoples.

Cuban diplomats thanked the gesture and explained the current situation in Cuba, the strengthening of the blockade in times of pandemic and the importance of solidarity.
The Greek initiative to award the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize to the internationalist contingent of Cuban doctors Henry Reeve, born on March 28, 2020, exceeds 230,000 endorsement signatures. This great mass of people in solidarity with Cuba will continue to take action in favor of the small rebel island that is an example for the world.
As part of the internationalist spirit that Cuba has inspired, a group of doctors belonging to the Greek initiative are helping the population affected by the recent fires in Greece, and by carrying with them the symbol created by Takis Varelas, with Che and the Cuban flag, people feel that it is Cuba that extends its hand of solidarity, and its humanist inspiration where it is most needed.
