Cuba grants deserved recognition to the Association of Friends of Cuba South Africa

Pretoria, May 4, 2021.- In an emotional virtual event held within the framework of Freedom Day in South Africa, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) awarded the Friends of Cuba Society in South Africa (FOCUS) the seal “60th anniversary of ICAP”, for the outstanding and uninterrupted work of support and solidarity with the Cuban people and their Revolution.

The meeting reviewed the important work carried out in South Africa by the solidarity movement with Cuba, led by FOCUS and to which contribute also decisively the Cuban Alumni Association of South Africa (CAASA), the main unions in the country, and the South African Communist and ANC among many other organizations.

In their interventions, the representatives of the solidarity movement agreed that the battle against the criminal blockade imposed on the Cuban people by the United States government for more than 60 years will continue to be a high priority and reiterated their firm position of support and accompaniment to the Cuban people in their fight against this illegal and genocidal policy.
