Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. April 1, 2021. The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, H.E. Mrs. Battsetseg Batmunkh, received, at the headquarters of the Ministry Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of Cuba Raúl Delgado Concepción, in a courtesy meeting that confirmed the mutual commitment to continue working in the development of diplomatic, economic and commercial relations between both countries.
During the meeting, Minister B. Battsetseg informed the Ambassador about the measures taken by the Government of Mongolia to combat the pandemic, highlighting that Cuba is successfully testing various vaccines candidates produced by the island against the pandemic. The Chancellor was interested in the development of these vaccines candidates against Covid-19 for the younger population and expressed Mongolia’s interest in acquiring them once they are available. She further noted that last year marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and she called for further strengthening of this traditionally friendly relationship, to the economic and commercial spheres through cooperation.
The Ambassador conveyed to Minister Battsetseg the congratulations on her appointment of his Cuban counterpart, Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, as well as the gratitude of the government and the Cuban people for the sustained support of Mongolia to the battle that Cuba is waging against the North American blockade. He also highlighted the real possibility of increasing cooperation in the areas of health, biotechnology and tourism, and the willingness of both governments to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of health.
