On behalf of the Cuban government and people, the Cuban Embassy and on my own behalf, we wish the Government and people of Mongolia a Happy Lunar New Year of the Tiger and also good health, prosperity, success and well-being.
At the end of a year and the beginning of a new one, it is a moment of reflection and of projecting the future of our lives. We leave behind a year full of challenges and begin an equally complex one due to the continuity of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the last Congresses of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), held in 2021, demonstrated that we shared the will of both parties, governments and peoples to recover our economies affected by Covid-19 and to face the great challenges of the future with tenacity and optimism.
Prime Minister and MPP Chairman Oyun-Erdene’s Revival Policy for Economic Independence, approved by the 30th Congress, the Mongolian government and Parliament, reveals that both countries have many common goals.
We share the goals of reducing dependence on imports; increase and diversify exports and their markets; increase agricultural and electricity production, develop renewable energy and ultimately improve the quality of life and prosperity of our two peoples.
As the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to develop 3 vaccines against Covid-19 that have been shown in clinical studies to generate high levels of specific antibodies against the Omicron variant, as the first in the world to immunize children from the age of 2 with our own vaccines that has prevented any Cuban child from losing their lives after vaccination and that is already working on a clinical study with the Cuban Abdala vaccine in children under two years of age, we are ready to make our modest experience available to the Mongolian people and to collaborate in this noble effort to protect and save lives. Mongolia knows that it can count on Cuba.
We are sure that this year will also bring new opportunities and we are committed to continue developing our collaboration in the training of professionals, in health, biotechnology, sports, agriculture and tourism and to develop our economic and commercial relations through joint efforts, taking advantage of existing opportunities with a view to continuing to strengthen our historic friendship and improving the quality of life of our two peoples.
We reiterate our congratulations on the new Lunar Year and sincerely wish Mongolia a speedy recovery from the pandemic.
